DIY Emoji Ornaments

Christmas is on it's way and it's time to start getting gifts! Every year I try to make some DIY presents to keep costs down! These emojis ornaments are adorable and so easy to make. All I did was cut out some felt in the right shapes, stuffed them and sewed it all together. This is the perfect addition to any gift or as a stocking stuffer. If you would like to see the full tutorial click the link below to see my DIY Holiday Gift Video. I show you how to make these emojis plus much more!

The Perfect Fall Face

Hey Everyone! Today, I'm sharing some of my favourite fall products that will leave you with the perfect fall face! Hope you enjoy and find this helpful. :)

1. The Porefessional Primer -Benefit Cosmetics

I have been using this product for a while now. It simply minimizes your pores and leaves a smooth finish. I focus on my "T" zone (my nose in particular).

2. Hello Flawless Oxygen Wow Foundation -Benefit Cosmetics

This liquid foundation is great if you like light coverage. It doesn't feel heavy on your face and leaves you with a beautiful glow. I don't wear foundation on a normal basis but I really love this one for special occasions.

3. Lancôme Blush

Lately, I have been really into Lancôme products, including this blush. It's in the colour "Plum Affair". I think this blush screams fall and warms ups your face!

4. Smokey Extravagant Mascara -Make Up For Ever

I received this mascara in my Sephora Birthday Sample a while ago. However, I just recently started using it. I love how it adds volume and pumps up your lashes.

5. Lancôme Lipstick

This is by far my favourite fall lip colour. It's in the shade "Curtain Call". It is a beautiful mix of plum and burgundy. Dark lips are definitely a fall trend. This lipstick is perfect because it's a dark shade for fall but it's not too overpowering. It's very moisturizing and lasts for a long time!

6. Lancôme Eyeshadow

This is in the colour "All That Brightness". I have a couple of these eyeshadows but this one is my favourite. It adds a little sparkle to any fall look. I like applying it in the center of my eyelids, corners of my eyes and brow bone to brighten up the look.

My Day In LA

Ever since I was young, I have dreamed of living in California. I have been to California many times but have never stayed in LA. So, this summer, I was excited to stay a couple of nights in North Hollywood. There were lots of things I wanted to see, such as The Urban Lights in front of the LA County Museum of Art  and the Angel Wings by LA artist Colette Miller.

While walking around Hollywood, I wanted to be cute yet comfortable. My outfit is a ballet inspired look. I wore a white A line skirt from Sweewë that reminds me of a ballet tutu, along with a top from Aritzia (thanks Ella) and my favourite shoes, white converse.

We started our day at the LACMA and decided to walk to the Angel Wings. Along the way, we stopped at the world famous Farmers Market and a swedish candy shop, Sockerbit. We also spotted a really cute butterfly painting that was nestled between two shops. Sometimes the things that are unexpected are the best things.

Best Places to Eat in Vancouver

Today I am sharing some of my favourite places to eat in Van City, from small cafés to candy shops! Hope you enjoy!

1. Rain or Shine Ice Cream

The first time I walked into Rain or Shine, the smell of the waffle cones instantly hit me. The staff was very friendly and let me sample many different flavours before choosing. I appreciated that because I'm very indecisive. Seasonal flavours are made with fresh local ingredients.

Where: 3382 Cambie St, Vancouver,

What I Ordered: On Taco Tuesday a taco is a definite must! I chose two flavours; London Fog and a seasonal flavour, Malted Chocolate Honeycomb. And to top it off, toffee brittle. Yum!

2.Trafiq

Where: 4216 Main St Vancouver, BC

What I Ordered: Chunky monkey bread and a mountain berry iced tea. The iced tea was great! It had a little tang and wasn't overly sweet. I have never had anything else like the chunky monkey bread. I am not a huge fan of bananas, but I did enjoy this! It is similar to banana bread but with a creamy consistency and crusty top.

3. Nanaimo Sushi

This is my favourite sushi restaurant! It doesn't compare to any other! It's very affordable and service is always quick. The portions are large so its a great idea to share!

Where: 350 Nanaimo St, Vancouver, BC

What I Ordered: Awesome roll (California roll with salmon, crunchy yams and sauce on top), Mangodise roll (California roll with mango and topped with prawns and a mango sauce) and miso soup.

4. Bâtard

Bâtard is an eclectic french café and bakery. It's very welcoming and a great neighbourhood place.

Where: 3958 Fraser St, Vancouver, BC

What I Ordered: Chocolate raspberry cake, Kouign Amann, Financier, Chocolate tart and a latte (my family and I like to share all the goodies).

5. Karameller

Karameller is a Swedish candy shop in Yaletown. I love how fun it is to pick out your own candy. This candy is a bit pricey but the high-quality ingredients make it worth it. Plus, they have gluten free candy which is important because one of my best friends has celiac disease.

Where: 1020 Mainland Street, Vancouver, BC

What I Ordered: Some of my favourite candies are; Mini Stekta Ägg, Red ammo, Skogsbär and Hallon shots

6. Chipotle

I know that you can get Chipotle in other places besides Vancouver but it's so yummy and always has a line out the door!

Where: 818 Howe St, Vancouver, BC

What I Ordered: Burrito bowl (black beans, brown rice, mild salsa, cheese, corn, guacamole)

7. Sweet Bake Shop

Sadly, Sweet Bake Shop is closing on August 16th. However, I still wanted to share it with you because it is my favourite bakery.

Where: 1141 Mainland St, Vancouver, BC

What I Ordered: Usually I purchase macaroons. The flavours change everyday but some of my favourites are; london fog, salted caramel, milk chocolate caramel and vanilla sprinkle.

Thank you for reading! I hope it helps you if you ever visit Vancouver or even if you live here! Please leave a comment below if you have any post suggestions or requests. :)

The Importance of A Planner

Just last month I decided to start a planner. I always see so many cute planners in the stores but, they are always so expensive. So, I created my very own personalized up cycled planner. Since then I have realized that every girl needs a planner! It has now become a helpful tool in my life.

As I said before planners can get very pricey! Mine started off as an old American Girl weekly planner. I found that it was kind of childish and lacked in space and organization. Plus I had never used it before. So I got to work. I have always loved graphic design and scrapbooking. I thought creating my own agenda would be the best idea for me personally because I could customize it to my own preferences while also having a lot of fun decorating my pages as I go.

" Failing to plan is planning to fail"

~Benjamin Franklin

Having a planner in my life now seems like an essential. Before I had one, I would use my phone calendar. I find having a real agenda is much easier and more efficient. Seeing a real picture of my week or/and month has been helpful. You can find ways to use your time better. And get the important things done while also having time for all the fun moments in your life.

Decorating my planner is my favourite part! The possibilities are endless. I started off on my laptop in a word document, creating a table to use as a calendar. Be sure to measure the book or page that you will be pasting it onto before creating the table (I made that mistake before). From there you can begin to fancy it up. You can use an assortment of washy tape, stickers, print outs, markers and sticky notes. I purchased some really pretty note pads from H&M for only three dollars (ones shown above- To Do, To Buy, To Remember).
